Hello fabulous Volunteer Art Instructors!

This is YOUR webpage--dedicated to providing guidance, ideas, reminders, and information so you can be the best Artie you can be! If there's something you'd like to see on this page, please complete the form at the bottom. Thank you for all you do for our school!
You are invited to explore the art room. Just a few minutes before your pick up your student(s) or after drop off can not only help you find your way around but spark many ideas for art instruction. Remember to incorporate the elements of art in your lesson plans whether through medium, method, movement or artist. These lessons will become layers giving your students powerful context for social and emotional learning.

Special Reminder

Please take the time to clean ALL supplies and tools before returning to their correct places. We have two print making kits that have been gone for some time now and they were not checked out.  Please check your classrooms and return if you are finished.  Remember materials must be signed out so others know where to look if they need to share. Thank you for your help and cooperation.

Scholastic Fun

Did you know we subscribe to Scholastic Arts Magazine? You can find the latest copy on our information board each month. Every month offers a new style, artist or movement and has two featured lesson plans that incorporate that month's theme.  You can also access our subscription electronically to view videos, lesson plans, discussions and more by visiting www.scholastic.com/art registering and enter our access code: A4U8TK

Brush Care

Please thoroughly wash all brushes after use and store properly.  Remember brushes up gets you a "thumbs up". Leaving brushes upside down in the containers or with paint still on them destroys the brushes.

Something Missing?

Out of something in the art room? Let me know by writing it down on the clipboard next to our big information board.  I check this weekly and will respond to the sheet.

Housekeeping

Yes, it's time to talk about how important it is to clean up after you are done with prepping and using materials.  This includes washing items, placing lids on correctly, cleaning up scrap papers, utensils etc. If you are taking the time to use and check out materials; it is expected that you will take the time to put things back to their proper home.

Remember...

Kits (watercolor, marbleizing & print making) are designed to handle an entire classroom. For example if you are using liquid watercolors, please use only one kit.  Watercolors can be diluted and are just as vibrate. Please make sure not to dilute in the bottles only in separate containers/wells and never return diluted watercolor to the bottles. If all kits are gone from the shelf, you can check the "sign out" sheets to find out where they are located. All art materials should be retuned timely to ensure others can use them too.

Thank you again for all you do at Jessie Beck!

Special thanks go to our amazing PFA who make all of this possible through an annual art budget that pays for all our supplies, tools and materials.  If you have questions, need assistance or just would like to discuss ideas, please let me know. I am here to assist and happy to help.
