Art to Grow

Arties
Fund the Arts
NMA Educator Series
Strolling Art Show
The goal of Jessie Beck’s Art to Grow Program is to provide a positive learning experience for students of all skill levels to participate in the world of art. Fostering a student’s knowledge of artist and their works, principle elements of art, conceptual development and hands-on skills help cultivate patience, personal confidence, empathy, social awareness and communication. Developing such skills contribute to enhanced attention, dedication an improved performance.

The program is designed to assist both the volunteer art instructor and teacher with a variety of curriculum and materials for ideas, training and lesson plans. Training throughout the year is designed to teach and inspire both the new and experience art volunteer and assist with the tools needed for classroom instruction and application.

Our programs success is made possible by the sixty-plus volunteers whose encouragement and support continue to grow through communication, team teaching, shadowing and cross-grade training. Volunteers are always welcome to get involved.

Materials and resource are obtained through funding from our Parent Faculty Association (PFA), monetary contributions and recycled donations.

Art to Grow

Hello from the wonderful world of art! Over the last several months, your students have been on a journey of discovery through art. From learning about new artist to trying their hands at new methods like printmaking and marbleizing; your students are exploring, trying, practicing, observing, and of course having fun.

Our art program is designed to provide a positive learning experience for students of all skill levels to participate in art. In addition, it assists both the art volunteer and teacher with a variety of curriculum and materials for ideas, training and lesson plans. None of this would be possible without the help of our staff, PFA funding and the wonderful dedication of over sixty volunteer art instructors who are available to teach and assist in the classroom throughout the year. Many thanks to all of you for making Jessie Beck Elementary School the best!

Over the last several months, our volunteer art instructors have participated in multiple workshops involving printmaking, marbleizing, clay and collaborative art. These workshops are designed to give participates hands-on experience, knowledge of artist, methods, movements & application in the classroom and exchange with one another building a strong support network. It is this network that makes our program so successful.

We have officially kicked off our collaborative art projects for Fund the Arts. All classes have submitted ideas and are beginning the planning process with their students. This process allows each student to participate and help create a one-of-a- kind masterpiece TOGETHER which will be auctioned off at the big event in February. Your students receive a great lesson in planning, decision making, hands-on application, understanding, problem solving and yes fun with their classmates. Projects range from framed to sculpture and functional furnishings. You can follow our Instagram to see more as projects start to take shape.

Want to get involved? There’s always room for more. Please email me if you would like to get involved in our Art to Grow program.

Happy Holidays to you all.

Greeting from Art to Grow!

And we’re off! Creating & exploring art is happening everywhere at Jessie Beck. Our art program, Art to Grow, is more than just cotton balls and popsicle sticks.  It explores mediums, methods, artists, movements, history, critical observation & thinking and so much more. Oh yes, and it’s fun!

The goal of Jessie Beck’s Art to Grow program is to provide a positive learning experience for students of all skill levels to participate in art. Fostering knowledge, principles, conceptual development and hands-on skills help cultivate patience, personal confidence, empathy, social awareness and communication.   These skills contribute to enhanced attention, dedication, and improved performance.  This program is made possible with the assistance of our volunteer art instructors who, along with our dedicated staff, share time, care and enthusiasm to explore the world of art with your students.

Looking to get involved? There’s always room for more with or without art experience. Workshops, curriculum, shadowing and team-sharing are provided. Please contact me if you are interested in being a part of our program.
