VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
This newly-improved Science Fair event is an exciting way to boost science education at Jessie Beck!
Come out and be a part of something great! There are big and small commitments for every schedule.
We need volunteers to help with:
Materials development - need help with designing/printing award certificates, maps, programs, and other printed materials.
Set-up - Wednesday, May 17 we will meet at school during the day, gather all the project boards and set them up in the
multi-purpose room for judging later that afternoon/evening.
Judging - Wednesday, May 17, afternoon/evening we need judges to judge the projects. Judges will be grouped together and
each group will be responsible for judging a whole grade level of projects in one of three categories (Scientific
Method, Invention, Demonstration). Judging will take place at the school and refreshments will be served.
Event Prep - Thursday, May 18, after 1:00PM, transport projects to BGC, set-up
Event Areas - Thursday, May 18, 5:30-8:00PM during/after the event
-> Check-in Table (5:30)- need 2-3 volunteers to collect tickets/check families in at the front door
-> Sierra Nevada Journeys Science Stations helpers (5:30-6:30) - need 10 volunteers to help w/stations
-> Food Servers (5:30-7:00) - Need 10-12 volunteers to help serve spaghetti (take 30 min shifts)
-> Awards Ceremony helper (7:00)- need 2 volunteers to help run the awards ceremony
-> Clean up/take down (7:30-8:00) - need 10 volunteers to help take down tables, projects, etc.
