Jessie Beck has five finalists in the running! The winner will be announced on November 10.
Reno, Nevada, November 3, 2021
Jessie Beck Elementary School is proud to announce five students have submitted entrees for the Lion’s Club International Peace Poster Contest “We Are All Connected”. Currently all posters are on display at the Reno Town Mall in the gallery window for viewing and an opportunity to cast their vote on the “People’s Choice” award. An awards ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, November 10th to announce the winner. The winning poster will proceed to the state level competition in Las Vegas.
For over thirty years, the Lion’s International Club has been hosting this contest to encourage children, ages 11-13, to creatively express what peace means to them. This allows students to share their unique images of peace with others, so that we may all have greater tolerance and international understanding.
“We are thrilled the Reno Host Lions Club invited us to participate with such a thoughtful project. Art is such a big part of Jessie Beck’s culture. It delights us to see our students connect globally through their art”.—Erin Lane, principal
